A Piece of OneBlade History
This Silver Genesis #713 was part of the inaugural launch of OneBlade in 2013, representing the first chapter in the brand’s pursuit of a better shaving experience. Combining the simplicity of a single blade with innovative engineering and refined design, it established the foundation for what OneBlade would become.
This early-production razor represents the craftsmanship and attention to detail that defined the company from the beginning. With its original packaging and serial number 713, it is a unique piece of OneBlade history.
For collectors, longtime OneBlade customers, or anyone who appreciates well-made tools, this Silver Genesis offers the opportunity to own one of the earliest examples of the Genesis line.
Serial Number 713. Each Genesis Razor is individually numbered, and this razor carries #713 — marking its place among the 1,000 OneBlade razors ever produced.
The Packaging
Preserved in its original packaging, this is a rare opportunity to own an early OneBlade razor exactly as it was originally presented.
To be honest, the original packaging was a little over the top - even for us.
The Genesis and matching steel stand were hand polished and then carefully tucked into a custom foam insert that was fitted precisely for a hand-stitched leather box, embossed with the OneBlade logo on the top that looks like this:
That leather box was then carefully hand wrapped in thick grey craft paper that was custom stamped with the matching Genesis serial number.
Then, someone thought it was a good idea to tie the whole bundle up with bright red string and an engraved OneBlade metal disc.
We produced thousands of Genesis Razors like this for years until we simply couldn't keep up with the manual labor required for such packaging.
So we abandoned the leather and the grey paper and the red string and the metal disc and opted for high-quality embossed cardboard similar to what an iPhone comes in.
Dust Included
Some of those first-generation razors were moved to the back of our warehouse — serial numbers in the low hundreds, packaging that most customers have never seen.
We found them recently while doing inventory.
We're not going to pretend this is anything other than what it is: an early-production OneBlade razor, with original, unopened premium packaging, that has been sitting untouched (some literally covered in dust) for more than 13 years.

This Genesis will shave exactly the same as every OneBlade we've made since — that part hasn't changed. But if you care about owning an original, or you want to give someone a piece of the brand's actual history rather than a gift that just looks nice, this is it.

The Genesis is designed to handle all of OneBlade's proprietary single-edge blades: the Feather FHS Hi-Stainless blade (10 blades included with your purchase), our OneBlade HiCarbon SE blade which provides a more moderate shave than the Feather and our Gentle Ride, the mildest of blades we offer. Standard double-edge blades are not compatible.

The Element and Genesis share the same patented pivoting head technology and Active Floating Blade System — so the shave quality is nearly identical. The difference is in materials and construction. The Genesis uses solid German stainless steel throughout and is made with 50+ individual steps, many by hand. The Element uses an anodized aluminum handle and a matte chrome zinc alloy head, which brings the price down significantly while preserving the core shave performance. If you want to try OneBlade before committing to the Genesis, Element is the right starting point.

The HiCarbon SE blade — coated in Chromium and PTFE — lasts on average around 4–5 shaves for most users, though some report up to 10 shaves depending on beard thickness. The Feather FHS blade (included with Genesis) typically lasts ~3 shaves. You'll feel the blade begin to tug when it's time to change.

Yes — it's specifically engineered for the transition from cartridge razors. The patented pivoting head holds the blade at the optimal angle automatically, so you don't have to think about blade angle the way you do with traditional safety razors. The main adjustment is learning to use lighter pressure than you're used to with a cartridge. Most new users are comfortable within 3–5 shaves.

Yes. The pivoting head makes it particularly well-suited for head shaving — it naturally adapts to contours that a fixed-head razor would struggle with. Many customers use it for both face and head. Use the same technique: light pressure, let the pivot do the work. For other areas... You can but you're probably better off using an electric razor (the only thing they're good for).

Genesis uses our quick-load blade system — no unscrewing or disassembling required. Simply unwrap your blade. Hold it facing the rear of the head and then slide it in until it snaps into place with an audible (and surprisingly satisfying) click. To remove a spent blade, simply grip the exposed flat end of the blade and pull it back out through the rear and dispose of it safely. The system is designed to minimize contact with the blade edge during changes.

OneBlade covers the Genesis with a lifetime warranty — what we call the Forever Warranty. If anything goes wrong with the razor, OneBlade will make it right. This applies to the original purchaser and is part of our philosophy that a quality razor should last decades, not months. Of course, improper use can void the warranty. Keep in mind that our warranty does not ensure the razor color or coating or finish will continue to maintain its original appearance or condition. All three are single-edge metallic safety razors, but they take different engineering approaches. Henson uses a fixed head, meaning blade angle is entirely up to the user. While Supply uses a pivoting head, the blade is still locked in and doesn't automatically adjust to your face's contours like the Genesis. Genesis is more forgiving and has an easier learning curve. The Genesis costs significantly more because it is forged from the highest quality German stainless steel. Once you hold a Genesis, you get it. If price is a big deal to you, check out our Element which still has our pivoting head and an all-metal body but is priced in line with Supply and Henson.

It depends on how much of your face or body you shave and how often. Basically, with Genesis, you're paying significantly more for the handle upfront than you would with a cartridge razor. But keep in mind, that's a one-time purchase. This is your LAST razor. Ongoing costs make Genesis surprisingly more cost effective over time. The Genesis will work to shave legs and other body parts. But check out The Dawn which was designed exclusively for a woman's legs. It has a longer, contoured handle which was designed to make it easier to grip while moving along a much longer body part like a leg.
